Lung Cancer
A Trial for non - small cell lung cancer patients comparing conventional chemotherapy + radiation therapy with Ayurveda treatment This trial is being performed at several centers across the Gujarat and is coordinated by Dr. Bhavna Joshi(Kansara)
Phase II Study of Green tea in patients with Androgen Independent Metastatic Prostate Cancer. The OCCAM cooperative group program is sponsoring a Phase II Study to determine the effectiveness and toxicity of green tea in-patients with androgen independent metastatic prostate cancer. Patients will receive oral green tea three times daily for 4 months.
Prostate Cancer
Life style Trial (diet, exercise, stress management) in prostate cancer.: This study is the first randomized study on how intensive changes in diet and lifestyle may change the progression on Prostate Cancer.
Colon and Rectal Cancer
Phase - II trial of Matra Basti in-patients with advanced stage of ano-rectal carcinoma. This study find the excellent results on various symptoms like bleeding P/R , pain while defecation, foul smell diarrhoea etc.
Head and Neck Cancer
Trial to study the efficacy and Safety of Glutathion upon Radiation induced Oral mucositis , pain , dryness of mouth etc in the Head and Neck cancers.
Non Specific Cancer
Randomized Pilot study to evaluate Educational Intervation and Behavioral Skills Training for pain control in patients with recurrent or metastatic Breast cancer, Head and Neck cancer.
Survey of the use of Alternative Medical therapies in phase - II clinical trials. This is a survey and interview study of phase II cancer patients enrolled in ongoing clinical trials at the occam to determine the prevalence of alternative therapy use in this population. This study will also examine patient attitudes and perceptions regarding there use of alternative therapy as compared with their phase- I allopathic therapy.
